Shen Dai in Paris

Shen Dai in Paris is a new play by Lun Yang, a rising talent in Chinese playwriting and a current visiting scholar at the Graduate Center, CUNY. The play reevaluates Brecht’s Good Person of Sichuan in light of the most pressing ethical questions of contemporary China, exploring what it means—and what it takes—to be a ‘model citizen.’ The play is being presented in a new translation by Mia Zhu, directed by Philip Wiles.
